2007 Season Hunt Summary
2007 turned out to be another great year. All of the hunters in camp with one exception
saw bear.
The first week Gary shot his first bear after seeing
six that night. Jim and Ed tagged out on Tuesday. Son scored on Wednesday. John killed one on
Thursday. Eddie scored on Friday. Eleven hunters saw twenty-six, killed six, and lost one.
The second week John’s bait was hit before he got there, so I put him in at 9:00 am. We
brought him lunch at 1:30 and he killed a 215 pound boar at 6:00
pm. Dave from Ohio also scored that
night. Lyle from Illinois shot his first bear. William and John from New York got their bear. Adam and
his dad from West Virginia saw bears in a double ground blind for two days in a row. Then Adam got in
a tree for two days and saw nothing. He got back in the blind on Friday and killed a 165-pound sow.
Uncle Sal from Minneola New York killed a 225-pound sow from a ground blind the last day of the second
week. Dan who hunted the first week without seeing a bear came back for a two-day hunt the second week
and killed his first bear. There were ten hunters who saw fourteen and killed eight..jpg)
The third week started off wet and windy. Mark came back for another hound hunt and
scored again. Mark brought his brother Tom on his first hound hunt and shot a 270-pound bear on the
ground. Doug, Kevin, and Todd all saw bear but just couldn’t get it done. Every stand Bob and John
were at had sow with cubs. Bob saw two Bull Moose come around the bait. One came over to the barrel
and one laid down for a while. There were seven hunters. They saw fourteen and killed two..jpg)
Week four Ron killed a 255-pound boar on
Monday. Jim from Maryland came back for another hound hunt and this year killed a 210-pound boar after
a 6-½ hour chase. This one did not get away! Doug got one with hounds. John shot his bear with hounds.
Bob B. from PA got his first bear. Tom got his Saturday. Bob G. had a bear hanging around for more
than an hour. The bear heard the truck come in and split right at dark. Out of eight hunters they saw
twelve bear, killed six, and lost one.
See you in camp this fall!
